ACBRIDE Sarah and Glen

Sarah describes her wedding day as a ‘dream come true’. Side by side with her love Glen, the pair tied the knot settled amid the picturesque landscapes of Swan Valley, WA.

Sarah wore our beautiful Amelie dress, which was perfectly complimented by the romantic and bohemian style of her and Glen’s special day!

Our Love Story… Glen and I met overseas in 2013 while travelling the Greek Islands. Glen was so carefree and had such a great energy around him, which I was instantly attracted to. We both also happened to be from Perth, although Glen was working on the East Coast at the time. Fast forward a few months, after trying to get to know one another via long distance we decided to take a leap of faith and for me to move to Townsville with Glen when he posted there with the Army in early 2014. It was the best decision I ever made, and as they say the rest is history!

The Engagement… Glen and I became engaged in 2015 when we were holidaying on Hamilton Island in the Whitsundays. When we were up at the lookout overlooking the stunning Whitehaven Beach Glen got down on one knee and proposed. I had no idea he was planning to propose so it was such an exciting surprise. The private boat he’d organised then took us down to a deserted stretch of the beach where we enjoyed a champagne picnic – it was very romantic!

Finding the ‘ONE’… It was Anna’s beautiful and unique designs that originally drew me to her brand. I remember stumbling across her website shortly after getting engaged and falling in love with almost every one of her dresses, especially the vintage inspired pieces with Anna’s signature beading and gorgeous bow detail on the back. Being from Perth, it was very fortunate that The White Wolf Bridal brought a trunk show to Perth in 2018 and I immediately booked an appointment.

When you know, you know… Amelie was one of the first dresses I tried on at my appointment and I instantly knew the gown was the one (although there were so many other gorgeous gowns there that I had to try on just to be sure!). The bohemian sleeves and lovely 3D flower embellishments were so unique and exactly the style I wanted for my wedding. A lot of the AC dresses I tried on were stunning but just didn’t feel like me. The dress I chose matched my personality, and not only did I love how the dress looked on me more importantly I loved how it made me feel – immensely happy, beautiful and like my best self!

My Trunk Show experience… I purchased my dress from the White Wolf Bridal when they brought their trunk show to Perth in 2018. Anna had just released her Wanderlust collection. The lovely Chantelle from WWB helped me to choose the Amelie dress and recommended the perfect Anna Campbell accessories to complete the look.

Our Wedding Day… Our wedding day was truly a dream come true. I styled the whole wedding myself so to see it come together so perfectly was an amazing feeling, and I am so incredibly grateful for all of our amazing vendors who helped my vision come to life!

The First Dance… Glen and I chose a cover of “Can’t Help Falling in Love with You” as our first dance song and we had a few dance lessons leading up to the day to learn a few simple twirls and dips. Glen and I laughed throughout most of our dance which I think was a combination of nerves and because we were having so much fun! Those moments were captured by our photographer brilliantly, and looking back at those images brings me so much happiness.

Pearls of wisdom for future Anna Campbell Brides… Everyone told me that the day would fly by, and it’s so true! Enjoy every moment, be happy and relax, and try to steal a small moment alone with your husband to take in the venue, the people, the food and everything you have worked months or maybe even years preparing for.
