Pippa & Ben

Step into the enchanting world of Pippa's bridal journey alongside Anna Campbell, where we reminisce the moments Pippa captured the hearts of our entire team.

Our team first met the lovely Pippa back in September during the launch of our 'Written In The Stars' Collection. Pippa's infectious smile brought a delightful energy to our boutique, sparking the imagination of her stylist, Frankie, who was eager to bring her vision to life. Collaborating with Anna, our Creative Director, Pippa's unique look was crafted in our Melbourne Design Studio, tailored to perfection for her special day. Months later, As Pippa arrived for her First Fitting, finally seeing her custom vision in person, her Mum already had tears in her eyes and Pippa was beaming ear to ear.

How did you & Ben meet? We met 10 years ago now, in passing at St Vincents Hospital, and there is a constant debate about who added who on facebook. About 5 years later, we both independently made friends with the same couple, whilst working in the same small town insterstate. Ben had already moved away when I was working there, but this couple told him ‘You need to come back we’ve met your dream girl’. I didn’t know any of this until well and truly afterwards, we had been together a few years when Ben told me this story. Later on, I was back in Melbourne having a knee reconstruction, and Ben came over and broke me out of my parents place in a wheelchair, so we could take my dog (our future ringbearer) for a walk. It was very platonic then but quickly morphed into something really special.

How did you first find Anna Campbell? When she first started going formal wear, a lot of my girlfriends wore her dresses with the really intricate beaded backs, like the beautiful beading that she still does now. Years later, I found a photo on Pinterest of the Meadow & Ava set and had to do a deep dive because it didn’t have a name on the photo. When I found out it was Anna Campbell, I kept my eye on her for years, before I was even engaged! I already loved the idea of a top & a skirt, it’s very me.

Tell us about your journey to find the perfect look: I booked my appointment with Anna Campbell first, because it was the most important one for me personally. It just so happened that the day I had booked the appointment for, was the day the new collection was being launched. In the lead up, I was talking to Mum about these teasers on Instagram showing clips of the upcoming collection, and I said to her, I really hope I’ll be able to try some of these on!! I had seen the Rory Skirt especially, and thought, I love it so much already, so it felt very serendipitous that it ended up being my look! I brought my sisters (who are my bridesmaids) and Mum, there was no way I could leave Mum behind. I specifically organised to have all of them come to Anna Campbell because I knew I would find ‘the one’ there.

Tell us about your Initital Appointment: I had been obsessed with Anna Campbell for a long time and I was particularly obsessed with one of Anna’s older designs that had tassels on the back of it. I fell in love with this ensemble, but then was really torn about the top because I was so obsessed with the tassles! And then the next thing I knew, Anna came up behind me and was tucking the top up and pinning it and then adding the tassles and asked me ‘What do you think of that?’ and I immediately said, Oh, its perfect! That little bit extra that I need.

How did you know it was the one? I think Frankie (my stylist) knew actually! This is the first thing I reached for when I got there and Frankie said that my face changed when I saw it, so she said we had to try it last because she thought it would be ‘the one’. One of the biggest things that I found when trying on different brands of dresses was, as soon as I put on the Anna Campbell dresses, they are just so comfortable! They hug you in the best ways. Especially this skirt, it feels like I’m wearing butter, so comfortable. I found with a lot of the other dresses, you felt like you were in a corset, as opposed to just being in your own skin, and that’s the best thing about Anna Campbell.

Is there any advice you would give to future brides when it comes to shopping? Be open to trying on anything! I had my little sister with me, and there’s a lot of things that she would wear that I would never wear, but it’s worth trying it on because it gives you a really good idea of what is you and whats not, what actually works for you. Make sure you’re choosing the best possible option for yourself.
