Shenae & Tim

Wedding Location | Fremantle, Western Australia Wedding Date | April 1st, 2021

Meet Shenae & Tim, a gorgeous Australian couple who planned their Perth Celebration amid an unpredictable pandemic. Their wedding was brimming with joy and undeniably beautiful, the beaming bride Shenae wore our Coco Dress which she purchased online with our incredible online stylist from the comfort of her own home. We couldn’t be more excited to share Shenae and Tim’s wedding with you.

Meet Shenae & Tim | Tim and I met 7 years ago through mutual friends playing social sport. Tim was the first to ask me on a date and from there I guess the rest is history.

Tim and I both have a love for the outdoors and travel, we both love animals and share our home with our Labradoodle Murphy and cat Oona. We are both very social and love spending time with our friends and family. Tim is a Carpenter working in fire safety and I am a neonatal ICU nurse, we have both grown up around the Fremantle area of Perth. We purchased our first home together in East Fremantle and spend our free time near the river or the beach enjoying the outdoors.

The Proposal | It was really spontaneous, we were down in the Margret river region of WA for Tim’s mums 60th birthday. We were at a gorgeous boutique winery and it was between rain showers when the sun was streaming through the clouds that Tim asked me to get a photo with him by the vineyards. It’s funny because Tim doesn’t love taking photos and never usually asks me to get a photo with him. He knelt down in front of his family and asked me to marry him. We have the most amazing photos from the moment and it’s a memory I will treasure forever.

Finding ‘The One’ | I have always loved Anna Campbell dresses; I actually wore an Anna Campbell dress to a Health Science ball and I think that’s where my love for the label grew. I remember feeling so elegant and beautiful in the dress that I have always followed the brand. My older sister also wore an Anna Campbell gown for her wedding day!

The Coco Dress | I have followed Anna Campbell bridal for years on Instagram and constantly had my friends and sisters sending me links to AC dresses prior to my engagement. I fell in love with the Coco Slimline Chiffon dress after seeing it on Instagram and actually purchased it prior to even trying it on! It was the one dress I could actually picture myself wearing and had all the features I was after in a wedding gown. I had the sleeves adjusted slightly to my style but absolutely adore the delicately beaded bodice and the detail in the back, the dress was exactly what I was looking for.

It was actually during the pandemic that I found myself looking for a wedding gown. For this reason, I purchased my gown online. When I received it in Perth I remember face-timing my bridesmaids to try my dress on for the first time (it was during lockdown). Putting on the dress for the first time was so incredible, it made everything feel so real and was a really memorable moment in the lead up to our wedding.

What I love most about my Anna Campbell Dress | The Coco dress in general made me feel great! One of my favourite features is its adjustability, the dress is easy to adjust on the day and modify beforehand. The detail in the beading and the back of the dress is what I fell in love with. The Coco dress was flattering whilst being easy to eat, dance and party in which is what I consider to be the most important aspect of a wedding dress!

How I felt wearing my Dress | I felt so amazing on the day, the dress was super flattering and elegant whilst also being extra comfy to wear! The style and design of the dress worked flawlessly with our wedding theme. It’s hard to describe the feeling but putting on my dress on the day I felt incredible, like a real bride.

Memorable Moments | The week before our wedding Tim’s brother and best man Alex, actually snapped his Achilles tendon playing sport. He had surgery to repair it and was in a full moon boot for our wedding. We were able to adapt to having a wheelchair bound best man and it made being out on location for photos even more entertaining. We made the best of an unexpected situation and it is now a great story to tell when looking back at the photos.

Another funny moment is having to google how to tie the perfect Anna Campbell bow whilst getting ready on the day of our wedding!

Words of Wisdom | My advice to future Anna Campbell brides is to not hesitate and just buy the dress! It is the best decision I made and cannot say enough about my gorgeous gown.  Another piece of advice would be to purchase the matching accessories. I had the matching hair piece for my dress, the beading matched perfectly and since I decided not to have a veil it was the perfect element to finish off my look for the day.

Venue: The Fremantle Roundhouse

We chose the roundhouse for its historic Fremantle sentiment and its gorgeous location set high above Fremantle city overlooking Bathers Beach. The roundhouse is the oldest public building in WA and is built from limestone which is a colour we incorporated into the theme for our wedding.

Reception: Moore & Moore

We wanted a charismatic venue close to our ceremony location that incorporated the feel and vibe of Fremantle. The Moore and Moore building was built in the 1840’s and is situated amongst Notre Dame university. It incorporates culture and historic Fremantle architecture as well as acting as an art gallery. The areas of the venue suited us perfectly! We used the courtyard out the back for pre-dinner drinks and our sit down dinner was situated in the art gallery with the dance floor off to one side. We just loved both locations!
