AC BRIDE ELIZABETH AND MICHAEL

9th February 2019 | Rothbury, New South Wales, Australia

Meet Elizabeth and Michael, a gorgeous couple from Maitland NSW. From the moment we saw the radiant joy filtering through each image of their sunlit wedding, we couldn’t wait to share! Wearing our Blake dress, Ashantha Veil, Olive headpiece and Charlotte earrings, Elizabeth is the epitome of classic Anna Campbell.

Meet the happy couple… Michael and I have both had a multiple of jobs due to us both being lucky enough to have travelled the world, even living overseas for many years . Michael spent many years playing professional rugby union in both New Zealand and France and now back in Australia, is a rugby development officer for NSW Rugby and Club Captain for Maitland Rugby Club. I have finally chosen a career in nursing, something I am now so passionate about. As an Enrolled Nurse, I'm currently at university studying my Bachelor of Nursing. 3 out of my 4 siblings live overseas and my mother lives interstate, this was really tough when it came to planning the wedding. None could make it home for Christmas last year, so had all planned a 3 week holiday back to Maitland in February. And while we were only engaged in October, Michael and I took on the challenge to plan a wedding in 4 months so my whole family could be there for the special day.

Planning the Wedding… Between full time work and studying, planning a wedding in 4 months was a challenge we were definitely both up for! I am a very organised person and love making lists, while Michael is so chill and relaxed, which was the perfect mix planning a wedding Everything went so smoothly and most of our friends and family were more stressed than us, wondering why we weren't more frantic. It was such a dream to plan and a dream come true on the day when it all fell into place.

The proposal… After about 8 years together and a holiday to Europe coming up, both myself and most of our family and friends were convinced that Michael would propose to me in France as we lived there for a while and it's very special to us. So, with the Tuesday before we flew out being my birthday, I thought nothing of it when Michael took me to the Calais Estate vineyard for a birthday picnic. At the end of the picnic while walking around the vineyard, Michael got down on one knee and proposed. I was in tears straight away and of course said yes.

Finding Anna Campbell… I had been in love with Anna Campbell designs since I saw one on my news feed about 6 years ago. With every collection that was released I never knew how I would ever choose between all the amazing designs, but I ALWAYS knew I would be wearing Anna Campbell on my wedding day.

On the day… I honestly felt the most beautiful and happiest I've ever been. I had always hoped that on my wedding day I would look classy and timeless in a dress that I could look back on in 50 years and still think I looked stylish, and that's how I felt on the day. I received so many compliments and despite being a 35 degree day with a ceremony and photos in the sun, I was so comfortable in the dress. My beautiful chapel length Ashantha veil looked incredible in the breeze, as did my hair with the Olive headpiece. I also received so many comments on the Charlotte earrings and absolutely love how they look in all the photos, they were just the right size and weren't heavy in the slightest.

When you knew you’d found the one… Having followed the brand on social media I was always up to date with the latest collections, years before I was even engaged. When Anna Campbell released the 'Blake' dress, I immediately fell in love with it's sleek silhouette combined with such class and sophistication.

I purchased my dress at The Bridal Atelier in Double Bay. Having dreamt of an Anna Campbell dress for years I was so excited for the day I could finally walk into the store and try on some of my favourite Anna Campbell.

Shopping at The Bridal Atelier My AMAZING stylist Rhiannon was so lovely and happy to be helping me, she made the whole day magical. Rhiannon asked me what my number one favourite was to try on first and I went with my gut instinct, the Blake. My beautiful bridesmaid Eliza cried when I walked out in it, andI had my 'bridal moment' . I did go on to try the Ruby and Sydney dress, however, nothing could beat how I felt in the Blake. Having bought the first dress I tried on and the brand I had dreamt of for years, the moment I received my dream dress will always stick with me as such a special moment.

Favourite element of the Blake Dress… The show stopping low back with intricate beading and sparkle was without doubt my favourite part of the dress and considering the number of compliments I received, it was my guests favourite part also! My only disappointment was that I couldn't look at it all day unless it was in a mirror haha. I also loved how sleek and smooth the silk crepe was, it just complimented the sparkle perfectly.

Pearls of Wisdom for future Anna Campbell Brides… Definitely spoil yourself with some beautiful Anna Campbell accessories, the styles compliment each other so well, you can't go wrong! It was such an ease to accessorise knowing they would all look great together and as you can see from the photos, they definitely did (I might be biased  though). I also highly recommend purchasing a new perfume you haven't worn before to wear on the day! I am so happy I bought a brand new scent, with my new Chanel Coco Mademoiselle reminding Michael and I of our wedding day whenever I wear it.

Memorable Moments… It was so special when Michael and I would just take a time out from whatever we were doing to just look at each other and really take in the moment. I'd had many people suggest we do this to try and remember the day and I'm so glad we did. They were really special moments and I remember each one so clearly, so much of the rest of the day is a blur. A fun, emotional, amazing blur.

Laughable Moments… The funniest would be my beautiful bridesmaid dropping a whole steak and sauce on her dress at dinner, with us trying to convince her you couldn't notice the stain (You definitely could). Luckily most of the photos were finished.
