A dress made of dreams, and crafted to perfection

Join Melinda as she shares her & Jonny’s magical wedding with us, a journey that took an unexpected turn filled with joyous surprises.

Our wedding was a long time coming after my now husband first proposed in the middle of Covid, June 2020. We knew that we needed to wait until there was more certainty with borders with a large sum of our guest list was interstate or international. Fast forward to May 2024 the day was better than we ever could have imagined. A long engagement timeline meant we really could cherry pick the best vendors and didn’t we do just that! We had also found out in January that we were expecting and I would be 18 weeks on the wedding day!

On the morning I got ready at Herrmann House alongside my mum, mother in law, maid of honour and bridesmaid.

The boys got ready at their accommodation at La Bonne Vie, dressed in custom Theodore suits they were the epitome of classic sophistication.

There had been so much going on in the lead up that I don’t think the fact I was getting married that day had fully sunk in until I stepped into my stunning Anna Campbell wedding dress that morning, and then the wild ride of emotions only really set in on the journey from Herrmann House to the wedding venue and then again walking down the aisle. It was only when I reached my now husband that we took a big deep breath together and looking into his eyes that all of that emotion relaxed and I found peace with exactly where we were.

Our ceremony was the best ceremony ever, the way our celebrant captured and told our story was equal parts beautiful and fun and brought everyone along on the journey of our past 8 years together. After the ceremony, we shared another celebration with our guests, a gender reveal of our baby boy!! Something both everyone knew we were doing but definitely didn’t know how we would do it, in the whole guest photo! The photos from the gender reveal are truly candid and emotional as everyone found out together.

We kicked off the first speech of the day with the youngest groomsmen, Jons little brother, in the cocktail hour. We found this to be a fun and informal way to split up the speeches. After heading off for wedding party photos and wedding portraits, we got ready for the grand entrance into our reception, which was a total vibe. We also kicked off a guest game of heads and tails which created an awesome buzz before the food and formalities started. We chose to have our incredible musician hang around for a dinner set too, which fed the ambiance of the night. After the cake was cut, we disappeared for my reception dress change as an extra surprise before the outside first dance. The first dance then kicked off the dance floor with the party taking off!

I originally chose the Hazel Dress as it truly made me feel enamoured and feminine. I then made a last minute decision to change the neckline from v to square, to feel more like myself, particularly as my bust was growing with the baby.

My experience with Anna Campbell was absolutely incredible! I was one of the affected brides from The Bridal Atelier closure and my whole experience being an interstate bride, with Anna herself, Frankie and then Hatice in the alterations team, was second to none.

It blows my mind how quickly the production team were able to turn my dress into fitting like a glove!
