AC BRIDE Tahlia and Michael
The moment we saw the images of Tahlia and Michael’s wedding we were so incredibly excited to share this beautiful day. Tahlia wore our Amelie Dress, in a whimsical ceremony set in Hobart, Tasmania with the couples nearest and dearest, from across the globe.
Wedding Location | Cambridge, Tasmania Wedding Date| 26th January 2020
Meet Tahlia and Michael | We both work in Fitness. I am a Pilates instructor and Michael is a movement coach. We have been together for 10 years and really feel like we have grown up together. We share a lot of the same interest and values. I am just as in love with him as when we first started dating!
We worked together at a fitness centre. I worked on reception and Mike was a trainer. He tricked me into giving him my number and the rest is history!
The Love Story | Mike lead me on a treasure hunt throughout Melbourne with several cards leading to brunch, dinner, drinks and a hotel stay. It finished with us dancing to our favourite song in the hotel room when Mike spun me in, spun me out and dropped down on one knee. I had no idea and Mike hadn’t told a soul he was going to propose!
Finding ‘The One’ | I am not one of those girls who has been planning their wedding all their lives. I wouldn’t say I was a ‘bride’ type really. I was scrolling through Pinterest looking for wedding styling ideas when a photo of a dress popped up. It was the Amelie dress and I was instantly in love. I clicked on the picture and sure enough it was Anna Campbell, a Melbourne designer and the show room is just up the road from where I lived. I took it as a sign and booked an appointment immediately.
My experience at the Armadale flagship boutique | The Amelie was the one and only dress I tried on. I knew I loved it from the time I saw it in the photo and when I saw it in person I knew it was the One. I had no idea if it would suit me or not but even the sample size fitted like a glove. My mum was with me and when I walked out she said ‘it is just perfect!’
I purchased it from the Armadale store. I remember being mesmerised by the beauty of the store. Running my fingers along all the show dresses and touching the beautiful lace and jewels. My mum few in from Tasmania for my appointment which was super special.
The Wedding Day | We had family and friends fly in from all over the world for our special day. Germany, England, Canada, Fiji, New Zealand and from all around Australia. It was really special to have everyone in my home town and show them how beautiful Tasmania is.
How I felt wearing my Amelie Dress | I felt like a fairytale princess. The Amelie dress was so perfect against the beautiful vineyards and Tasmanian landscape. The hand stitched flowers on the dress matched perfectly the flowers on my head piece. It was incredibly, they were exactly the same. My head piece was my Nans, she wore it when she married by pop 70 years ago. I had the head piece restored for our wedding by Viktoria Novak.
Words of Wisdom | Trust your instincts. Do what makes you and your husband to be happy. Don’t worry what anyone else thinks. Let your special day represent you and your love.

The most beautiful view of rolling hills and water in the Tasmanian country side. You feel instantly relaxed sitting on the deck looking out to the vineyard and enjoying a glass of their famous wines. I grew up in Tasmania and all of my family live there. It is my favourite place on earth!
