Meet Sara and Charlie | Charlie is a primary school teacher & Sara runs an activewear label - Treball Active. We’re both really active and social people as well as being big family people, we love Summer and the beach! We have a Cavoodle Alfie who is our fur baby.
The Love Story | Charlie went to school with my brother, we all lived in South Melbourne / Port Melbourne area an attended local trivia at the George Hotel. This was where we first met, and things grew from there.
The Proposal | (This is Sara’s Version) We were away on a family holiday with Charlie’s family, so I had no idea it was going to happen, we were on the beach in Boracay watching the sunset – which is my favourite thing to do and my favourite time of day! Charlie said he had a present for me because I’m always asking him for presents and then asked, ‘will you marry me’, presenting the ring in his hand. It just so happened to be the best sunset of the entire trip.
Finding ‘The One’ |I always loved the style of Anna Campbell dresses, I knew I wanted a v-neck and back details, I also loved the A line skirt. I saw an amazing photo of the Amelie dress on Instagram, which is why I initially visited the boutique. I also had so many people recommend Anna Campbell.
The Anna Campbell Experience | I purchased my dress from the Armadale Flagship Boutique. The whole experience was amazing! I was lucky to have Gina throughout the try on phase and then again during the alterations, it made it so personable. Coming out of the change room and seeing myself in the gown in your boutique was the most memorable part of it all, it became so real.
Memorable Moments | Everything went to plan except the weather! You would think planning an outdoor ceremony on the 1st of February would be safe from rain… but we had an absolute down pour. I am actually so thankful for it now, the day before was 44 degrees and humid. The rain made for some amazing photos and lighting however.
How I felt wearing my Jamie Empress Dress | Amazing! Like a princess, I guess. I felt so confident as it was so flattering, I felt a million dollars. The waist band, back details and the lace straps were amazing!
Words of Wisdom | Make sure you find a dress you’re 100% comfortable in and can enjoy your day in!
Don’t stress the small things because nobody notices them. Rain makes for amazing photos so don’t worry if it is raining on your day, they also say a wet knot is harder to untie for its good luck to tie the knot on a wet day!
Lastly, take time out on the day to soak it all in! It flies by so fast!

Venue: Ripponlea Gardens
We had our ceremony & Ripponlea Gardens as we absolutely loved it there and we wanted an outdoor wedding. The reception was at Canvas House in Melbourne, it was AMAZING! We initially were looking at wineries for our wedding, but we found Canvas House and it has all the charm of a venue out of Melbourne and made it easier for all our guests to get to. Nash the owner was amazing and made the whole process so easy!
