Selecting The Perfect Veil

The Finishing Touch For Your Bridal Look: The Ultimate Guide to Pairing Veils

Overwhelmed by the myriad of veil styles, from cathedral and chapel to those with or without a blusher? Our expert stylists are here to guide you in discovering the perfect veil, tailored to complement your unique gown—whether it’s an exquisite Anna Campbell creation or another beautiful choice. Selecting the right veil is ultimately a personal choice, but our stylists do have a few tricks up their sleeve to guide you.

what length should my veil be?

Selecting the length of your veil will ultimately come down to your personal preference, but the general guideline we like to follow, is either mindfully short such as fingertip, or longer than your train.

Our Cathedral Length Veils are thoughtfully designed to match the train lengths of our Anna Campbell gowns, coming just past the end of your train to frame your gown mindfully. For brides who have veils from other bridal designers, or a customised train length, we offer bespoke veils to complement your train perfectly.

Other factors that can influence the length of your veil include your individual height and the positioning of the veil comb on your head.

As illustrated below, the Cathedral Length veil extends approximately 15 cm beyond the train, ensuring it stands out gracefully and doesn't blend into the gown’s train.

If you prefer a more understated look, a chapel-length veil will seamlessly blend into the train of your gown, not extending beyond it, to create a subtle, cohesive effect that doesn’t draw attention away from your dress

Should my veil be plain or have detail?

First, consider what you want to achieve with your veil: are you aiming to make a dramatic entrance as you walk down the aisle, or would you prefer it to gently enhance your dress without overshadowing it?

For the Bride wanting to achieve the WOW moment, we always recommend matching the detail on your veil to that of your gown. Our design team considerately design each matching veil to be the perfect pairing without overpowering the look beneath.

What is a Blusher?

Many of our veils have the option of adding a blusher which is a secondary tier. It can be pulled over your face if you wish to be more traditional, or positioned at the back of your head to add extra volume. A blusher can create a striking and dramatic effect as you walk down the aisle with your face elegantly concealed, or it can serve as a stylish accessory during your photography session, adding an extra layer of playfulness & mystique to your photos.

Here you can see our delicate Isobelle Veil featured with and without a blusher.

Not loving a veil? Don’t fret, A VEIL DOES NOT MAKE A BRIDE!

There is no pressure to wear a veil on your special day if it doesn’t feel authentic to yourself or your bridal vision.

The most important choice to make is the one that is right for you!
