Our beautiful bride Demi, designed her dress alongside Anna through our ‘Designer Experience’, a bespoke design service for the Anna Campbell bride seeking a gown unique to their personal style. The Anna Campbell Designer Experience gives brides the opportunity to work one on one with Anna herself to create a uniquely individual design. Be it an iconic Anna Campbell silhouette or an aesthetic entirely original to the bride, Anna will work with the bride to ensure the dream result is achieved. Each customised designer experience gown is lovingly hand crafted in our Melbourne studio, through a series of personalised fittings. What drew you to the Anna Campbell Designer Experience? I had some strong ideas and wants for my wedding gown - a modern silhouette, embellished but still simple. I’d tried off the rack gowns which were all lovely but still didn’t quite fit my idea and style. Trying Anna Campbell was next on my list, I was super excited as I know she specialises in embellished gowns and, believe it or not, I wore an Anna Campbell dress to my year 10 formal which I loved! One dress in particular fitted me like a glove, and I was interested in exploring some more options for a different embellished material - which was when I was recommended to explore this with Anna herself through the Designer Experience!
What was the design process like for you and did you know exactly what you wanted from the first fitting? My first consultation with Anna was everything I’d hoped for. I had sent her some inspiration images prior to the meeting and named the gown which fitted me well in store. During the consultation we discussed what parts I liked about the inspiration gowns, what suited me and what overall feel I was looking for. Anna then made a sketch incorporating everything we’d talked about, including some of her own ideas. I feel like she immediately understood what I was after which made my decision to proceed with the Designer Experience so easy.
“The process from the first fitting was super simple - we scheduled appointments to take measurements, decide on the specific materials and then fix the embellishment designs to the dress. This was all done by hand by the wonderful Anna Campbell team. While I had a strong idea of certain aspects I wanted in my gown going into the this process, which I feel is important for the designer to work from, I also wanted explore a bit and let Anna have artistic freedom in terms of the design. I loved every part of working with Anna and her team. I would say that it was also the ‘feel’ of the entire experience that I enjoyed. Anna is extremely laid back but also has a vitality that made the process so relaxing but also exciting. It just felt right!”
