What does COVID 19 mean for your wedding dress?

The new normal of social distancing and isolation has caused plenty of uncertainty in the world of weddings. With many postponing celebrations until the end of the year and into early 2021, navigating your way through everything from bridal shopping to dress fittings is uncharted territory. We’ve taken the time to develop your experts guide to all things bridal in the time of COVID-19, beginning with the dress.

SHOULD I START WEDDING DRESS SHOPPING EARLY?

The short answer is YES, particularly if you are interested in one of our fully embellished designs.

With regular lead times for ordering your wedding dress starting at 20+ weeks, the isolation of COVID-19 has already impacted brides shopping for September and October wedding dates. We understand that some-times love just can’t wait, so we are currently waiving rush fees of up to 4 weeks on the majority of our dresses until the end of July! This means if you are ordering a non embellished Anna Campbell dress, you can have your order expedited on a 5 week rush order with no additional charge.

HAS THE CURRENT CRISIS IMPACTED HOW AND WHEN I WILL RECEIVE THE WEDDING DRESS I HAVE ORDERED?

We will continue to create and deliver your Anna Campbell order as per your original order date. While new orders may require a longer lead time due to a delay in receiving our hand embellished fabrics, dresses ordered prior to COVID 19 have already commenced production. Fortunately manufacturing in our very own studio in Melbourne, means that we can continue to create your wedding dress during isolation.

If you are located Internationally, your delivery may arrive a little differently. With many of our global stockists currently facing temporary closure, your consultant may opt to ship your wedding dress directly to your home address to avoid delays in collecting your order.

MY WEDDING HAS BEEN POSTPONED; HOW CAN I BEST STORE MY WEDDING DRESS?

While postponing your wedding day may be stressful, storing your Anna Campbell dress need not add to your woes, simply follow our recommendations below to protect your dress until your wedding day.

  • Keep your wedding dress in your Anna Campbell garment bag away from natural light.

  • Ensure the train of your dress is bustled.

  • Hang your dress via hang tape versus straps or sleeves to avoid stretching.

  • Should you wish, you can also fold your wedding dress in white acid-free tissue paper and place in a white storage box.

  • Please ensure you store away from light in a dry, pet free storage space.

CAN I STILL VISIT THE ANNA CAMPBELL BOUTIQUE IN MELBOURNE?

We continue to invite brides to visit our Armadale boutique during this time, our team of dedicated stylists are also offering Virtual Video Consultations to help brides worldwide begin the wedding dress journey. If you are planning to visit our Melbourne Boutique we ask that you follow the necessary government guidelines to ensure the safety of our team and our guests.

  • Please do not visit our boutique if you have been feeling unwell in any capacity in the past two weeks.

  • All brides must limit attending guests to two people during the week and one person for Saturday appointments, we welcome zoom or facetime calls for those guests you wish to share the experience with who are unable to join.

  • Please use the provided hand sanitiser upon entering the boutique.

  • We ask that you keep the touching of our dresses to a minimum in order to limit the spread of germs.

  • It is important that guests respect social distancing laws and remain seated during the appointment to ensure the health and safety of our staff as they are assisting brides with their fittings.

  • We will continue to clean in between each visitor to the boutique.
