Tell us about your bridal experience.
My bridal experience has been nothing but amazing! From the first moment I walked into Anna Campbell, the team has been nothing but incredible. I was a little bit unsure what style I would end up going with, but the girls ensured I felt amazing and their patience and creativity was so extremely helpful.
How did you know you’d found ‘The One’?
I knew as soon as I put it on! I instantly fell in love with the cut, the lace and everything in between. Straight away I felt confident and like myself when I looked in the mirror… that's when I knew it was the one. Plus, as soon as I saw the mini version, it was a done deal.
I love the feminine style that Anna Campbell dresses embody, and the classic and timeless designs that I tried on.
How did Conor propose?
It all happened on 21st October 2023, a few weeks after finding out we were pregnant with Audrey. Connor promises me that he had organised it before we found out we were pregnant... But pretty much, as we are currently living with mum and dad, Connors job before the footy season started was being the 'chicken boy' - collecting the eggs and feeding them everyday. So on the morning of the 21st, he woke up earlier than usual and asked me to get dressed. At this stage I was very unwell with morning sickness and hadn't been dressed in anything but trackies for days. So I put on clean trackies, we had breakfast and then he asked me to go and get the eggs with him. Not really wanting to as the chicken coop triggered my morning sickness, I hesitantly followed him up to the coop. Once we were in the chicken pen, I see a little black box placed on the nest with the eggs and then he grabbed it, got down on one knee and you know the rest of the story. With mum and my sisters' help, a cake had been organised with a beautiful morning tea once we had come down from the chicken pen. It was such a special and funny morning, I would not have had it any other way! The chickens are now a special part of our relationship.
What was Conor’s reaction when he saw you in your dress for the first time?
He sobbed. He was very emotional, which was so cute.
As part of your Anna Campbell journey, you had Priority Alterations completed across two days, whereby our in-house Melbourne design team tailored your gowns perfectly to you. Did the experience meet your expectations?
It was such an incredible experience, and it exceeded every expectation. The team was so efficient, clever and welcoming. I still remember seeing the dresses hanging and just falling in love with them every time we saw them across the 2 days.
In the lead up to the wedding, you mentioned playing a fun game where you asked Connor and your dad to guess what your dress would look like. How close were their guesses in the end? And what were their reactions when they finally saw you in your gown?
Connor was expecting long sleeves so he was very surprised! He absolutely loved the dress, particularly the lace. My dad just cried when he saw me for the first time, which we will take as a positive sign…My brother, funnily enough, absolutely loved the dress and could not get over it… he never comments on my outfits ever!
Tell us about your wedding day! How did you feel stepping into your gown and walking down the aisle?
The day was absolutely perfect and magical. I felt like a princess stepping into my gown and walking down the aisle. Because I felt so confident in the dress, I was able to be extremely relaxed and enjoy the whole process. Looking at myself in the dress and with the veil for the first time, made me a bit emotional… It was truly special.
Now that you’ve had time to reflect on your bridal experience, what stands out as the most memorable part of your Anna Campbell journey?
The kindness and calmness of the amazing team. It can be a stressful time trying to find the perfect dress for such a huge occasion, and the team made sure that every step of the way was seamless and I was 10000% happy with the final outcome. I will never forget how welcoming everyone at Anna Campbell was to not only me, but my Mother and daughter who joined me for the priority fittings. An experience I will never forget.
Do you have any advice for brides-to-be when it comes to finding "the one" and ensuring they feel amazing on their wedding day?
I would recommend trying on lots of different styles and designs, because you never know until you try!! Also, sounds cliche, but be yourself and enjoy every minute of the whole bridal and wedding process, it all goes so quickly!
